HPIE Day Spring 2016

Our Spring 2016 HPIE Day was held on Thursday, April 28th in the SOCH Penthouse. Students from across the Boston area came to discuss the Millennium Development Goals, which were adopted in 2000 by the United Nations to be achieved by 2015. Each student group took on one of the eight goals and had to determine why that goal was most important. They then had to negotiate with other groups and goals to determine which were most compatible and most important to a sustainable future.

After lunch, the students worked on their poster presentations detailing their reasons as to why their goal was the most important. Once each group had presented, the students were introduced to the Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted by the UN in 2015 for completion by 2030. A discussion on the effectiveness of each goal followed.
