Our Spring 2017 HPIE Day took place on April 28th in the SOCH Penthouse. Students from across the Boston area came to youth immigration in Europe as European Union Member States. Countries represented included Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France. After reading a background brief on the situation, students were broken up into different Member States and discussed their country’s position on the issue. Students were then sent to negotiate with other countries in smaller groups in order to come to a solution. Check out our background brief below!
After lunch, the students created poster presentations that detailed their solution to the problem. After presentations from each group, the day concluded with an awards presentation to the winners of the HPIE Spring 2017 Essay contest, where students were asked to create their ideal non-governmental organization that would address a pressing world issue. The winners are listed below.
