Our Fall 2016 HPIE took place on Tuesday, December 6th in the SOCH Penthouse. Students from across the Boston area came to discuss anti-globalization sentiment in the wake of Brexit and the 2016 Presidential Election. Representing groups such as the conservative and liberal Congresspeople, press, and think tanks, each student group had to take a stance on globalization, either for or against. They then had to interact with other groups to find those with similar stances.
After lunch, the students created poster presentations that detailed their stance on the issue. The day also featured a presentation from Jeffry Frieden, Professor of Government at Harvard University, about the anti-globalization trend and how it may continue into the next few years.
